The Way Of The World 2008 found me back at home in Houston, TX. It has been 10 years that I’ve been a recording artist and I wanted to do something special. So, I called a few of my friends to celebrate with me. It was time to do new things with new people! One of the most important changes was to level up on the sound of the songs that I had in my head and I sought out my friend Gary Baker to mix nearly all of the album. He knew A LOT of things I didn’t and was willing to take me on. I was more than satisfied with what he did and I learned A LOT during the process! It was definitely a break out from the norm and helped establish my records in a better direction for the changing times! Additionally, I got a chance to work with my brothers out of Athens, AL, The Malone brothers, on “I Gotta Tell It”, written by Bryant Malone, recorded, produced and mixed by Jerome Malone (he had a host of BGV singers including his wife Tiffany, Phillip French, himself, his brother John, myself and a few others (whoever came by the studio at the time…for real, Jerome found a way to tastefully and masterfully include them). Then, we got together to coproduce some parts! It was an awesome and cherished memory and a very important ministry song! There were many others that joined us too! Other songs on this album have gone on to become favorites for a lot of people that follow my work. It was at this point that I understood what people meant when they told me, “You have to listen close to your music because you really be ministering!”
