Safe Within HIS Arms (1999) was the 2nd offering. It was recorded shortly after moving to Valdosta, GA while still in the US Air Force. The inspiration for this album came from my new beginnings and surroundings in the area. I was so encouraged by the response and support of my first project that it seemed like there was a calling on my life to do it again. It was the first time I heard the song, “We’ll Sing Hallelujah” at the West Adair church of Christ (now Woodlawn Forest church of Christ in Valdosta). It was an exciting time for ministry, personal/spiritual growth and discovery! By this time my first daughter, Sydnee (3 weeks), was born and you can hear me having some fun with her on the outro.
Guest Artist:
Gloria Watkins (formally of the original Southside Singers of Rogersville, AL), (we attended church together in Valdosta then), Safe Within HIS Arms. After hearing her beautiful and powerful soprano voice I was inspired to write a song that featured her. She and her family are still dear friends!
Amy Musselwhite, I Surrender All, was a sister to one of my coworkers. He said she could sing and boy was he right! Blue-eyed Soul!
