The Story Behind The Album
“Love
Lifted Me” is a personal offering for me. For the first time, I was
blessed to produce one of my mentors. This is an album of songs that have
been enjoyed by our extended family for many years. My aunt, Ethelrene
“Aunt Sang” Burns, has been, and still is, the focal point for music
in our family all my life. Simply put, if there was some singing to be
done, you can bet she was going to be involved…a torch passed to her
from her mother, my grandmother, Estelle “Ma dear” Adams.
I talked
her into recording these songs so that others can enjoy and feel as close
to her as I do. As an added
bonus we were able to get some of the other family members to do their
songs—even my father (see song listings). This is truly a group of
outstanding songs.
Sis Burns has inspired and taught me much throughout my life. She thrives to live a life that reflects Christ to everyone she meets. She is one of the warmest, modest, and giving people I know. If you are a fan of traditional Southern Gospel, this is your album. Every song is a Soul Stirring hit!
